LBBD Mental Health and Young Carers Taster Weekend

What a pleasure it was to meet seven adventurous souls this weekend who came to Trewern to have a taste of the what we have to offer. All sorts of weather were thrown at them this weekend from sunshine to icy cold snow flurries and almost everything in between. The group was never without a song for the occasion which helped keep everyone’s spirits up! On Saturday we started the day with a paddle down the canal. That was followed by a tunnel adventure in the dark after which we headed back to the centre for a warm up and a climbing wall session. There were some excellent achievements and incredible enthusiasm from all. Sunday was mountain walk day and we set out in sideways snow to ascend Twmpa via Red Gully. Fortunately, the snow gave way to mostly blue skies and although the wind felt fairly arctic on top we were sheltered for much of the climb. The descent was more like skating than walking as the path was so muddy, but it all added to the fun. Well done everyone and safe journey home.
