John Perry 2017

Categories: News

John Perry Primary have just left us, after a week of mixed weather, bright sun one minute, rain and fog the next. The children smiled throughout and enjoyed themselves, whatever the weather or activity. The Mountain Walk and Muddy Puddle day was a particular hit with the children: ascending Twmpa via the Red Gully -a nice mix of challenge and reward (even if one group did have significantly better views). For the rest of the week there was canoeing and archery, BMX and climbing (with a bit of marshmallow toasting), Go with the Flow (a mini river study) and gorge walking and evenings were spent in the climbing wall, problem solving, orienteering (indoors) or on the ropes course. We worked especially hard on listening skills and problem solving, and made some good improvements, following complex instructions and working well together. It was particularly pleasing to hear the children talking about their favourite, surprising and most satisfying moments at the end of the week, and everyone had many great memories to take back with them, and several new friends.
